I’m exploring a Python and Linux toolkit that walks community organizations, and later schools, through deploying small, open-weight language models on infrastructure they already own, so the model is governed locally. I already run a language model locally on my own machine.
The toolkit is in an exploratory phase. Before building further, I fielded a survey on how people reason about AI and safety, and whether running a local model is something they’d use. I’m still collecting responses.
